Early Thursday morning, Potomac Research Group analyst Greg Valliere predicted that if the debt-ceiling deadline grew closer, President Barack Obama would play his “trump card” in the debate. He would remind seniors that if Congress doesn’t raise the debt ceiling, seniors wouldn’t get their Social Security checks.

“GOP strategists like Karl Rove surely know that it’s just a matter of time before President Obama throws a game-changer — warning senior citizens that their Social Security checks won’t be mailed because of John Boehner,” Valliere wrote in a note to clients.

A few hours later, Obama did just that during a speech at M. Luis Construction Company in Rockville, Md. He spent much of the speech warning that while the ongoing government shutdown was damaging, failure to raise the debt ceiling by an Oct. 17 deadline would be even worse.

“In a government shutdown, Social Security checks still go out on time. In an economic shutdown — if we don’t raise the debt ceiling — they don’t go out on time,” Obama said. “In a government shutdown, disability benefits still arrive on time. In an economic shutdown, they don’t.”

Let me tell you this..the last people he should be trying to bully is seniors. My generation and those before mine, who are still around..arent afraid of him and his bullchit tactics. He is trying to worry the wrong people. He should be aiming at his ghetto brothers...or should I say sisters.

Never try to bully people who have nothing to lose but maybe a decade or so of pain. They don't scare easily.

Yeah,we all know that's not going to happen. Cutting off "free" public housing,food,clothing,utilities,and medical care may be just what the doctor ordered to help get the budget under control,but the riots would be instant and brutal. He would immediately go from "The Chocolate Messiah" to "that nigga in de white house."

If the Republicans had any brains or b***s they would be out in front of the cameras 24/7 to the Sheeple, who I swear are getting dumber by the minute.

I sure haven't seen it.

Maybe they will be forced to when the GOP stands together en masse on the capitol steps with just the right message. And this is a GOOD message.

But as long as we have spineless wimps and/or out and out backstabbers in the party I don't expect that will happen.

Of course they don't...we all know that.

But thanks for making my point. If you are not willing to fight, why go to war at all?

EDIT: One more thing...I used to work in marketing. WHO directs the GOP's P.R. and marketing strategies? Because they really suck. I could do better blindfolded with one hand tied behind my back, as I suspect any of us could.
