Do a search on constitutional conservatism and the civil rights act being unconstitutional and guess who is all over it? The libertarians and Ron Paul.

The harsh reality is that the racist undertones of bitching about the Civil Rights act being unconstitutional is driving minorities away. If you want a snowball's chance in hell of ever winning a national election then you might want to consider not alienating the people you need to reach.

You actually have to win elections to pass your agenda. The last time I looked you have to have more votes to win not fewer. It seems the purists don't get that.

No "Constitutional Conservative" is ever going to win the POTUS (unless she/he somehow lies like hell and somehow tricks the media into supporting them as well) until after the whole house of cards comes crashing down. And to be frank, I have no idea what to call the type of candidate that you are attempting to gin up support for. Someone that is willing to sacrifice fidelity to the Constitution and Bill of Rights merely to win a political office is nothing but a worthless cur. We have a government filled to the brim with politicians of this stripe, they wear the labels "Republican" and "Democrat" quite proudly.

2. The "Republicans" are never going to gain a significant portion of the "minority" vote, unless they completely sell out their principals, at which point they are no different than your common garden variety Democrat. And even if they did completely sell out and go into complete pandering mode, the media will never support them, no matter what.

3. I didn't realize that "Libertarians" weren't welcome at RR. If that is Justme's desire, all she has to do is let me know and I will stop posting here. (If anyone didn't know that I was a Libertarian after all of my posts since the site began, I am sorry that I didn't make that point more clearly.) My first clear indication of the distaste for Libertarians came in your quoted post above, I see that casting lunatic aspersions at a large group of people with absolutely zero shame is apparently acceptable behavior; obviously very disappointing.

1. I'm not ginning up any candidate at the moment. My focus is the 2014 Senate race and ensuring that Mary Landrieu and Harry Reid are fired. At this point in time I vote for the most conservative and competent candidate who can win. I became more pragmatic about this issue of supporting viable candidates after watching the utter incompetent Democratic governor and dumb ass mayor sit by and allowed 1577 people die in Katrina.

2. Of course they will never win as long as they keep alienating them with the inflammatory rhetoric being hurled at them from some factions. I'm telling you after reading just who is behind the anti-immigrarion lobby it explains why minorities are fleeing. Conservatism is the answer but not the brand that is being used by groups with agendas that goes against conservatism.

3. Who said anything about them not being welcomed here? I don't like Libertarians tactics after they tried to hijack the Louisiana Republican party and steal the primary election for Ron Paul. They did other things here that has left a very bad impression of them.
