How about the list I cited. I see no one wants to discuss the damage those ideas or policies have done. Some of them are actually giving the current Marxist cover for his ever expanding role of the Federal Govt' in all levels of our lives today.

I also forgot to add the Bush II instituted both the elimination of the incandescent light bulb and raised CAFE standards to absurdly unachievable levels.

My opinion is that you believe the Bush family is an honorable and good family.

I think the issue of George P. Bush running for the office of land commissioner is relevant because it is historical and timely otherwise it wouldn't have been written and posted in the news and linked on Drudge with follow up blog posts in the San Fransciso Gate even an hour ago...

You are right. I believe the Bush family is honorable.

I believe they have made political decisions which were wrong, that GHW was not a conservative, and that GW was a partial conservative.

I believe that Jeb is an honest man, who has some conservative leanings and is mostly moderate.

I know that they had some trouble with one daughter, and I truthfully, until this thread, knew nothing about George P, other than that he resembles Pete Sampras.

I don't know the details of the burglary, nor do I care particularly, since it happened so long ago.

But the guy is running for Land Commissioner, for goodness' sakes. It's not that relevant to anything going on right now.

And I still find it fascinating that you brought up my name on FR. It's a window into what bugs you about me. I'm glad you opened it a bit.

Is the cost of this program to taxpayers GREATER or LESS THAN if this vote buying scheme never existed. Is not a govt' subsidy for people to buy things an expansion of the welfare state?

I disagree. The argument is basically why George P is getting the skunk eye from Conservatives. My reason for doing so is that other Bush's in office have veered far from their stated intentions. For some of us, it is the apple falling from the tree/Acorn and an Oak argument. This issue comes up in any endevour where the son takes over the family business, fair or not.

I brought it up because I think your screenname on FR is charming. It actually is a token of affection in my opinion.

You like the family.

I think the family champions all of its members as families do. I wouldn't expect anything less of them. I admire that quality in families. In fact I have always admired that about Barbara Bush. I have seen her as a great defender as a mother. She is like a lioness.

But this protection that is offered to the family, when the press hid the truth from the public about the burglary, when the governor was able to hide it for years, when it was not covered by the press when the incident happened and was only exposed later, this is what brings about political elitism in America. This is what will cement one person's ability to win political office over his opponent. This protection was afforded to Governor Bush while he was governor of Florida for years. This story was not covered at the time. It will protect his son when he runs as land commissioner. This is what name recognition brings to the table. This is political power at its greatest. This is the way the game is played. And to state the truth about this is not being overly critical or mean spirited. It is being honest.

The Bushes do not need me to defend them.

They hold all the advantages. They win with or without my attention or money. They don't need anything from me.
