Whatever Cedric. I don't give a damn what you think. I posted a comment that was on topic and you made a personal attack. But whatever, keep believing the BS being fed to you. I'm not really that upset with the politicians to be honest. I'm upset with the leaders of the Religious Right for selling out for power and money.

Here's some more reasons why people are fleeing the church:

Young people see it as anti-science with their insistence of teaching Creation in school when it's not even been a doctrine for very long. A lot of denominations don't believe it either. So it shouldn't be forced to be taught in the classroom. Then there is that phony historian David Barton who is screening social studies textbooks while pushing his own revised history books. Guess what, he has a religious education degree from Oral Roberts University and a honorary PhD from Pensacola Christian College, who just recently got an accreditation in 2010. IOW, his phony doctorate was from an unaccredited Bob Jones University affiliated bible school. He has been taken to the woodshed by conservative Christian historians and of course many secular historians. This kind of lying turns people off.

Young women are fleeing the church because narrow minded politicians are working on banning contraceptives by passing laws allowing pharmacists to refuse to fill them.

How many ministers have been busted having affairs or even worse committing sexual abuse on minors? It's not just a problem in the Catholic church either.

The solution is simple, if the Church in america wants to be a vibrant part of society then it may need to ditch the political and do it's biblically mandated job. If they want to continue becoming more and more irrelevant then they can keep on doing what they are doing. People are fleeing in droves and not even bothering with religion.

BTW I have no problems with a pharmacist being able to practice faith and not supply contraception. Go somewhere else like you would anything.

What turned me off is the self righteousness is that I did see and I'm seeing.. What I mean by that is that Worship Jesus or go to hell, or going against a certain church cause they don't worship Jesus the right way. What needs to done is go back the message. Go back to the teachings of Christ.. Stop worrying about Halloween or stop worrying about Santa Claus..

Man. This Christianity stuff sounds like a bore. Thank goodness my church is a little more laid back than all this...

I'm doing my best to follow the Christ who was/is revealed in the Sctriptures and to live a life inspired and guided by the Holy Spirit.

My faith is a local thing in my personal life, in my marriage, my family, my job, my church and community.

I'm not a national movement, I'm not a political movement, not a social movement.

I'm a Christian... a Christ follower. I may spill into greater movements as cited above, but they are not me.

My politics are conservative and part of my faith, not my faith. Charity is a hand up, not just a hand out and I look for Truth and God's hand in all things.
