Rush:

First, he drags' out the stale, 21 year old, anecdote about one conversation he had with one RINO at a party in the Hamptons for about the hundredth time.

Then, he posits that the GOP is knowingly, indeed, joyfully promoting its own demise, claiming to be privy to a secret strategy, wherein, the GOP rids itself of its own base.

Finally, when he realizes he's talked himself into an obvious corner concerning who the GOP will replace the old base with, Mr. Know-It-All says, "Don't ask me."

One of the glaring facts Rush conveniently ignores every time he rolls out this threadbare rant is that the GOP congressional caucus (for example) moved much farther to the right and increased it's numbers, dramatically, after the 1992 Hamptons conversation which he keeps beating to death.

{Rush, in 1992 the GOP congressional caucus was still being led by perennial minority leader Bob Michel (my hero), remember?}

Coupla things:

One, I live in one of the bluest of the blue states, so there's effectively no GOP here, anyway. I think our last GOP governor was named Cedric

Two, you have an interesting definition of success. Sell any Edsels lately?

As I stated above, I consider you to be part of the malcontent fringe and, although I would like to see a purge of the "true" RINOs first, my strong conviction is that you are
"too far gone" and even if such a purge took place you'd refuse to believe or accept it, so the GOP would be well served to chase you off as well and start rebuilding sans the two extreme fringes.
