Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the 2008 Republican nominee for vice president responded to a Fox News Channel viewer’s Twitter question Saturday about the possibility of her and conservative talker Mark Levin abandoning the Republican Party and creating something called the “Freedom Party.”

Palin suggested she is open to the idea and said that if the GOP continues to abandon its conservative principles, other would follow suit.

“I love the name of that party — the ‘Freedom Party,’” Palin said. “And if the GOP continues to back away from the planks in our platform, from the principles that built this party of Lincoln and Reagan, then yeah, more and more of us are going to start saying, ‘You know, what’s wrong with being independent,’ kind of with that libertarian streak that much of us have. In other words, we want government to back off and not infringe upon our rights.

I left the republican party several years ago. They don't stand a chance of winning another election because you can't tell most of them apart in either party. They'll all republicrats.

Ghost write a book often enough, to claim status as important and influential.

What she and her merry band of followers seem to forget is how well this worked for Ross Perot, etc.

Since the Founding Fathers were the original Libertarians and I consider myself to be a Conservative (which means I am a traditional Libertarian) I understand the above is the mantra of alleged Republican Party Party People,and nowhere close to the truth.

As for open borders,I don't know of any Libertarian that is for open borders,including me.

As for homosexual (NOT "gay") marriages,I'm not even in favor of heterosexual marriages,so it's a real stretch to claim I am for homosexual marriages.

What I AM for is for all Americans to have the same RIGHTS,and THIS INCLUDES THE RIGHT TO MARRY WHO YOU WISH AS LONG AS THEY WISH TO MARRY YOU. I defy you to name ONE single individual right more personal than who you marry. Yet,you call yourself a conservative,and want the government to tell people who they can and can not marry.

As for drugs,they SHOULD be legalized for adults. I guess you are one of those alleged "conservatives" that thinks adult Americans need a nanny government to regulate what methods they can use to alter their reality because "deys just too much of dat "freedom stuff" goin' 'round!"?

Please tell us the political differences when it comes to individual liberties between you and the Dims? Or even between you and the Nazi's or Communists?

Since you verified 2 of my 3 claims, I need only address the traditional libertarian advocacy of open borders:

The current Libertarian Party platform states that "the free market requires the free movement of both capital and labor across borders."
