Of late we haven't had much to work with insofar as "better people."

I felt some who decided not to run in 2012, were better than those who did run. (Govs. Mitch Daniels and Tim Pawlenty, Sen. John Thune etc. versus Santorum, Cain, Bachmann, Palin)

Hopefully it is changing.

I think part of the equation is that you have to be a bit crazy......or a LOT crazy.......to be willing to run for national office as a Republican, especially a conservative one, because you know you are going to be crucified by a lying, hate-filled leftist media.

I think anyone who actually runs for office as a conservative has to have a lot of guts these days.

I was close to the Reagan campaign (twice). Even then there was press running around looking for dirt. Today you have to have your sanity brought into question if you want the rectal exam you are going to get when running for about any office as a Republican

I didn't have anyone in mind per se. It just comes across reading threads like this that there's plenty of that attitude to go around.

TPTB laugh at the GOP sheeple fighting energetically with countless hours and $millions a war they lost decades ago.

imho, Pretending that the war was not lost and is still winnable is not a good strategy for helping anything.

Other than prayer and fasting and working as possible and wise at the local level--I don't have any great solutions. I'm skeptical there are any.

But my hope is not in politics. Christ alone is my hope and the only viable hope of the world in any sense--political and otherwise.

We can dance all around that . . . and pontificate and blather endlessly about other options . . . I think this era is designed to PROVE for all creation and all eternity that NO OTHER OPTIONS lead anywhere but more misery and death.

But in terms of the DIMS AND GOP . . . it's a farce start to finish. One takes the good-cop role on this or that set of issues and the other takes the bad-cop role. And all the upper ranks in both parties move the globalist ball further down the field in the desired direction with regard to ALL the institutions in our culture . . . actually--all around the planet.

We can PRETEND otherwise.
We can spend money, energy and hours otherwise.

It doesn't change a thing of any significance whatsoever--away from the inexorable goals of the elite.

This article is spot on. The only quibble I would have is that local politics is getting entrenched in DC establishment money very rapidly so that getting good candidates is tough. We had a local commissioners race that a Tea Party guy looked good in. He is smart, and had a plan to cut spending and taxes without too much hassle. Instead of the local party getting behind this guy, they ran and backed this loser who lost the job years ago to a minor scandal. All the local GOP dead wood backed the loser and my local US congressman was funneling money into his campaign even though we had a guy running that could win. All the local GOP apparatus were worried they would lose their party jobs if TP candidates started to get elected. The TP guy won, much to the disgust of the local GOP'ers. Totally outrageous. That was in '10 and that was when I said this party as it is set up is not for me. I went to work to get Romney elected, but it wasn't the exciting effort I put forth in other campaigns. The modern GOP is nothing more that a job retention program and has no interest in getting new voters involved or even going out on a limb to stand up for principles. Hell, the congressman that was involved in backing the loser candidate started fooling around with the "No Labels" crowd he is such a beltway loser. And there is no chance to get rid of this guy because they just gerrymandered his seat to super duper safe.
