No one wanted Bush at any of the conventions because he is damaged goods. After the way he left office, what rational person would want him there? The "New Tone" had consequences and they were a disaster.

People did stand up for him and he left their asses twisting in the wind during the '06 election cycle. I have never seen a two term President do more to damage his parties brand than Bush. If you don't believe me, look at the continual slide in party ID since Bush's second term to today. It isn't a coincidence. He and the losers in his administration, who are the first to hit the MSM to slam Conservatism when it is mentioned, destroyed the Reagan coalition.

There isn't a whole lot of echoing going on here. There also hasn't been one personal attack on this thread either (unless you count George Bush).
